Kate and Philippe were married at the St. Regis Hotel in Washington DC. I absolutely love the St. Regis. Kate got ready in an amazing suite that has great colors and details. They planned to have the ceremony out in the courtyard, but rain changed their plans and they had it inside - which worked out beautifully. After the ceremony we took off to the Jefferson Memorial to get some shots of the two of them at the place they had gotten engaged! Congrats to an amazing couple!

When Caroline & Brian first contacted me by E mail about covering their wedding - I was thrilled to be covering what sounded like an amazing day. They booked me over the internet because they both lived in Richmond at the time and weren't going to be up for a few months. We met in Old Town in November of last year to go over details and I knew I loved these two, who were so in love and fun to be around! They met on a blind date in 2008 after Brian's cousin set them up. In January of 2009 Brian went to medical school in Grenada for 2 years and they really got a chance to realize how much they missed each other! Brian asked Caroline to marry him the day after he returned home!

We finally had some great weather and scheduled D'Anna & Will's Engagement session in Annapolis. So glad it turned out to be such a great day! They are getting married in November at The Oaks in Royal Oak, MD. I can't wait to see these two get hitched! We had so much fun walking around Annapolis. We found some cute props and books at some of the shops on Main Street. One of my favorite shops in Annapolis is Mary & Blanche, they have great gag gifts and humurous novelties! We had to go in there and have some fun!!

Claire + Adam

When Missy and I pulled up to High Point Farm in Clarksburg, MD we weren't sure if this simple park and pavillion setting was the correct address - then we found Julie Savage from Strawberry Milk Events setting up the ceremony in a field, with hay bales for seating and we knew we were in the right place. Claire and Julie had both described the vision of the wedding day and we knew it was going to be really cool - but we were blown away with all the vibrant details that Claire & Adam had created. Their ceremony was touching and personal, with an eclectic edge. They had all their guest stand up during the ceremony and Claire's sister in law led an interpretive dance to "All you need is Love" by the Beatles. Then after the ceremony we walked over to the pavillion that they had turned into a country fair themed wonderland. They had fresh squeezed lemonade, and someone squeezing it right in front of you! They had a whole field filled with lawn games like croquet and horseshoes. We brought along our photobooth - so people could take silly pictures of themselves with props like hats and masks. Instead of a traditonal cake cutting, they had a pie table of amazingly delicious homemade pies and cut one. They had pit barbeque and also a popcorn machine. Then at the end of the night guests talked and sat around a bonfire that was lit out on the lawn. It was an amazing event that I will never forget - I'm sure that all their guest won't forget it either! I loved all the personal touches that Claire and Adam put on their version of what a wedding should be.

Caroline & Brian ~ Engagement Session in Old Town Alexandria

Caroline & Brian are getting married on May 7th of this year at St. Mary's in Old Town and then having their reception at Belle Haven Country Club. We decided to peruse Old Town and get some fun shots on the streets for their engagement session. We had rescheduled 2 times because of weather and hit the jackpot with this day! So glad we changed it! They loved the urban feel of Oldtown and then wanted to change into their battle gear - Caroline is a Redskins fan, Brian is a Giants fan - so we went down by the water to do some head butting and football throwing. We had a blast and even ran into a firetruck returning to it's Alexandria Garage! I went for it and asked if we could have some fun with firehats...Brain said he had always wanted to be a fireman, so it was pretty funny!

Zandi & Zack - The Inn at Perry Cabin

Zandi & Zack had an amazingly beautiful wedding at The Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels Maryland. I love shooting weddings on the eastern shore in August - it just feels right! Even though it is sometimes hot and buggy - this wedding was neither. Okay it was a bit hot, but with all the beautiful things going on around me, I was distracted and unaware! They had their dog with them them and he was such a great character to photograph! The Inn at Perry Cabin is such a gorgeous place. We ended up doing their Bridal party Pics at dusk right out by the water and the light could not have been better. Both Missy and I were so happy to be a part of their day!

Tenisha & Chris

Tenisha & Chris were married in Alexandria at the Alfred Street Baptist Church. I absolutely loved the flowers they had picked - sunflowers. They were so vibrant and colorful. The Monogram Shop

One of my previous wedding clients owns a monogram shop and website in Baltimore. I shot their daughter's wedding which was beautifully detailed and so gorgeous! Radhika & Paul, Traditional Indian Ceremony

Radhika & Paul had the most amazing 2nd wedding celebration - they also had a traditional American ceremony, scroll down! They had the Indian ceremony at Radhika's parents home in Bethesda. Paul rode in on a horse during the Barat and then Radhika came out under a canopy of flowers carried by 4 attendants. The colors were absolutely incredible! The only thing that topped the amazing colors was the food, I absolutely love Indian food!! They had a dance off during the reception where everyone learned group dances and competed for the bride & groom's vote. That, to me, is the test of true friends when they learn a dance for your wedding. Shelly from Blue Sky Films was there to document as well. Sanober Azam did the incredible makeup for Radhika, she looked so gorgeous! Both Missy and I came home exhilarated and inspired! What an amazing weekend we spent with Radhika & Paul. Thanks so much for allowing us to be a part of your day!

Radhika & Paul, May 28th, 2010

Radhika & Paul booked both Missy and I for their 2 weddings that were planning for May 28th & May 30th. From the moment I met Radhika & Paul - I knew that these were special people, the kind that others want to be around. I knew that their weddings were going to be amazingly touching and inspiring, and I was not let down. This is the first ceremony that they had at Woodend in Chevy Chase on the 28th of May.

Courtney & Adam were married at The Oaks on May 22nd of this year. They met through friends in 2006 a few times and finally started dating 2 years later when they ran into each other again. Missy and I both had a blast at this wedding! We were happy to have great weather and a sparse amount of bugs to bother us!! They were married out on the lawn and had a very touching ceremony. I love the colors they chose for the bridal party - bold and vibrant! Their florist was Susan Wenger of SWfloraldesign.Both Missy and I love the Oaks - it's such a great place for a wedding. The staff is so wonderful there too - I can't say enough about them! Congrats Adam & Courtney!

Tara & Keith were married at Old South Country Club in Lothian, MD. This was such a wonderful wedding! I had my assistant Barbara with me who is an amazing shooter!! The forecast was for rain but we didn't see a drop! Cati Mitchell, the coordinator from Old South Country Club is always a pleasure to work with. The flowers were done by Intrigue Design in Annapolis, MD. This was my first wedding of the year and we got some really amazing shots! Congrats Tara & Keith!!

Sarah & Tim, October 17, 2009

I knew that when I met with Sarah & Tim that this was going to be a special wedding. I knew about the forecast and it was not good. Rain pretty much all day - and chilly for October. They had planned an outdoor ceremony in Hollywood Maryland at Greenwell State Park, right on the water. Yes, if the weather had been perfect it would have been the ideal spot, but the weather was not good (okay maybe for ducks!) But I had a good feeling about this day - and I was right. It rained all day but it never impeded on the spirits of everyone there. This was such a loving, warm family and I was so happy to be there. I brought my assistant Barbara, (who is a rock star by the way), she held the umbrella over me and my camera while I shot all the portraits in doorways so Sarah & Tim could stay dry. There was a small house on the grounds so we made use of it's old charm and cozy warmth. They had mason jars for people to drink out of and wildflowers on all the tables. The tent turned out to be an oasis in the middle of a wet and rainy evening. I know this is one that I will never forget! Congrats to Sarah & Tim and thanks for allowing Barbara and I to photograph your day!

Sarah & Erik, October 3, 2009

Sarah & Erik were married at the Thomas Birkby House in Leesburg, VA on October 3, 2009. I absolutely love shooting at the Birkby house!! It is such a quaint, intimate place for a wedding. Missy and I have done a bunch of weddings here over the years and we always get a warm and peaceful feeling when we pull up. Everything is very close but you don't feel cramped at all - the house is so cute and there are tons of nooks and crannies in it to shoot. Sarah & Eric had an amazing bluegrass band called Whiskey Rebellion that played at their reception. They were amazing!! Everyone was on the dance floor towards the end of the night - there was no one sitting in their seats - including Erik's grandmother! Missy and I both had a blast and were so thrilled to be a part of this awesome day.

Newton White Mansion Bridal Show!
